About Tom Evanchuck Guitar Repair

My Story

This journey started at the age of 5 when I knew music would be the main focus of my life. I know that sounds too young to know, but here I am in my thirties and the thought hasn’t changed once. I have been an active musician in the local and somewhat regional scene since I was 16yrs old. It wasn’t an until a few years ago that I would finally realize my passion for music was deeper than writing and performing. I had my eyes opened to a world I never really paid any attention to. I needed some work done to a very precious instrument to me, and the luthier I met with gave such a life to describing the care and work he would do, I couldn’t stop thinking about the process. From that day I was on a quest to become a luthier. I wasn’t driven to create my own instruments so much as to care for and bring life back to active and long lived instruments. I attended Southeast Guitar Repair Academy and apprenticed under Barett Culpepper. Where I was trained for a high level of attention to detail and technique. After graduating I continued to practice and hone my skills and then opened my doors on November 21st, 2022. I have repaired hundreds of instruments, worked with worked with some of the top local musicians, I have worked with music programs at local high schools, and even secured sole outsourcing of guitar work for local music stores.

I will treat your instrument with the highest level of dedication and respect. I will care for it as if it were my own. I will cater to your preferences and listen to what you’re looking for in a repair or maintenance request. I’m here to help your instrument live a long healthy life, and for you to love that instrument more every time you play it!
